Empowering Communities, Transforming Lives.
We partner with South African communities to build resilient healthcare, uplift educational achievement, and create economic opportunity for youth and women.
The name ‘Jenga’ derives from the Swahili ‘kujenga’ — to build. JCIA aims to build lasting impact across underserved communities in sub‑Saharan Africa. JCIA is registered as a Non‑Profit Company in South Africa.
Our Focus Areas
We don’t offer charity — we build capacity. Our work focuses on breaking long-standing cycles of inequality in three key areas:
Healthcare Systems Strengthening
Partnering with public and private providers to build sustainable, resilient systems prepared for current and future epidemics.
Economic Empowerment & Resilience
Improving school‑based and higher education outcomes responsive to socioeconomic needs of underserved communities.
Education and Training
We seek to improve school-based and higher education outcomes that are responsive to the socioeconomic needs of under-served communities.
Why We Exist
South Africa’s history has left deep scars — and while democracy brought new hope, the reality is that millions are still excluded from basic services and economic dignity.
The Problem:
South Africa has the highest HIV prevalence in the world.
Our schools produce graduates unprepared for the workplace.
Young people and women remain trapped in unemployment and poverty.
Our Response:
JCIA isn’t just another non-profit.
We are a community-driven movement using data, partnerships, and local leadership to spark lasting change. We educate, equip, and empower.
Our Mission? Empower communities with the capacity to drive sustainable economic, social, and just development, fostering peace and prosperity.
Our Approach
We pursue inclusive, evidence‑driven, and adaptive programming with communities at the center.
